Who Does My Service Benefit

When you volunteer at Safe Harbor, your work directly impacts the lives of families in your community. Someone in our shelter could be a neighbor, friend or even family member. Your work directly benefits those, who through no fault of their own, find themselves victims of violence.

How Many Hours Must I Volunteer?

There is no minimum or maximum number of hours required. The wonderful thing about volunteering at Safe Harbor is that w e can work to fit our needs with yours. You may volunteer every week of just a few hours a month. You may even volunteer to only work special events.

How Can I help Safe Harbor

There are many ways to volunteer.

The help you provide can be:

  • ​Clothing Closet and Donation Organization 

  • Distribution of Educational Materials

  • Special Events Projects

  • Holiday Preperation

  • Family activities, such as movie nights.

  • Planting flowers or assisting in the garden

  • Clerical Assistance

  • Art Studio

Other Areas of Need Include:

  • Teaching Arts and Crafts

  • Reading to children and/or Adults

  • Job training and interpersonal skills

  • Child Care

  • Health and Fitness Training

  • Nutrition and Culinary Training

  • Tutoring adults and/or Children
